Tributes

On the night of the 3rd of May, 2007, Rebecca was at the Halls of Residence in Hull when her young life was taken in the most horrific way.

Our lives have been ripped apart as we continue to struggle with coming to terms with needless taking of Rebecca's young and beautiful life. She had so much to offer, so much love to give, her local community and friends at University have been left stunned and bereft by the nature of events.

Rebecca was a devout Spiritualist and had attended Mexborough Spiritualist Chuch since being a young girl. We know that she is safe, well and happy witn the many other relatives and friends who have gone before her. We also know that she did not suffer, and that she had already been taken to the next world before her murderer did the dreadful things he did. It is this faith that has helped us so much and continues to do so.

Literally hundreds of cards, messages of sympathy, floral tributes, even rose trees, from friends, family, neighbours and colleagues have been received. People's feelings about how Rebecca lost her life has been overwhelming. Many churches and establishments throughout the country, including the University, have held special services for Rebecca.
